What's Not Being Said?
This is here to offer ideas for those who might need them. If you have your own idea, please feel free to play that out instead!
Remember, this is something that you're NOT directly telling the Peer Specialist.
Scenario 1 ideas on what's not being said:
- I'm afraid my pain isn't valid
- If I admit how much I'm struggling, I might lose control
- I've been told I'm too sensitive or dramatic, so I learned to minimize
- I don't want to burden you
Scenario 2 ideas on what's not being said:
- Something happened, but I don't feel safe talking about it.
- I don't want to relive it
- I feel ashamed or afraid of how you'll react
- I'm overwhelmed but trying to hide it."
Scenario 3 ideas on what's not being said:
- I've lost interest in things, including food
- I feel emotionally numb or deeply sad
- Something's wrong, but I don't know how to name it
- I might be experiencing symptoms of depression
Scenario 4 ideas on what's not being said:
- I feel deeply isolated or rejected
- I'm not sure I belong anywhere
- I've been hurt by people before
- I might be feeling hopeless or questioning my worth
